I graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling in June 2022. Most recently I had the benefit of working as clinical counselor with adolescents and adults in a private practice setting. This opportunity allowed me to provide mental health counseling in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, and chronic mental health conditions. In addition to having experience in a private practice, I have worked in the school system. I provided educational and emotional support to teachers with students with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. While completing my undergraduate degree in Psychology, I was an Active Duty Soldier in the Air Force. During my 20 years in service, I was trained and worked as a Resilience Program Coordinator. The program taught airman valuable coping skills to create resilience and mental well-being. Being part of this program, and being able to positively impact lives, led me to pursue a career in the helping profession of counseling.
My therapeutic approach with individuals is to use effective tools from the proven treatments of mindfulness-based cognitive, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavior, and psychodynamic. By tailoring therapeutic tools that work for my client’s daily life, there is an increase in confidence to take the action that will lead to healthy change. I am currently working toward full licensure in professional counseling and receive supervision from Barbara Horn, LPC.
It is a privilege to help you overcome barriers and take action to create your best life.
